Diagnostics 

Not all of the Play Station repairs we receive have a  true problem or can be repaired.  Before you send in your Play Station 2 for repair, we suggest you Cut and Paste the following PS 2 Diagnostic Questions into an E-Mail to us. We will review your answers and tell you if we can repair your ailing Play Station 2 Console.  This will save both of us Time, Labor and Shipping charges if we feel we can not repair your ailing Play Station 2.  If we E-Mail you back and say we can repair your ailing Play Station 2, we suggest you make a copy of our return E-Mail to you and a copy of the original E-Mail to us with the answers to the following questions below and tape it to the top of PS2 Console with your filed out Mail order repair Form.  Click here to see our recommend packaging instructions for sending in your PS 2 for repair.

 

A. Does the Unit power on?
    1. Was the unit opened?
    2. Does the unit power down after X amount of minutes?    3. Is there a burning smell coming from the power switch?
 
B. Does the disc tray open and close properly?
    1. Was the unit dropped?
    2. Was the disc tray pulled or shut by force?
 
C. Do the controllers work?
    1. Was the unit opened?
    2. Were the controllers plugged in while the system was on?
    3.Was the unit dropped?
 
D. Does the unit receive the message "Disc read error", "No Data" or "Insert Format disc" ?
    1. Was the unit opened?
    2. Do you hear a sporadic buzzing sound?
    3. Was the unit dropped?
"  4. Does your PS2 Console look dirty or dusty?  Check the lower vent openings below the front ledge of the PS2 front panel.  Also check the rear fan opening.

If we can not repair your Play Station 2 , we will contact you via E-Mail and return it back to you for return shipping and insurance charges only. 

Typical return USPS Shipping charges for a repaired Play Station 2 sent from our shop to back East (Zone 8) is $12.60 Shipping and $2.20 Insurance.
